How long do I need to keep my bank statements for

      Answer1:If youre an individual, three years is probably good enough. Thats how long the IRS recommends. The statements actually dont do a lot of good in an audit situation anyway. Its the receipts you need to hang onto. So whether you want to keep the statements is up to you.
