Crisis loan for an unexpected bill

My toilet broke soon after i moved into my council property i complained to the council but it took them quite a while to sort it out as they didnt deem it an emergency. Ive just recieved my water bill and it is astronomical nearly triple what is usually is would the job center give me a crisis loan to help me out because the water company will only accept a payment scheme of two or three lump sums. Thanks
Answer1:You may be able to get a bbudgeting load but it is not a crisis.
Answer2:I would contact the water company first and see if they can do a payment plan first.Failing that, no you wouldnt get a crisis loan, but you would be able to apply for a budgeting loan, that can take about 2-3 weeks to process. I think the max you can get is £1500 but it depends on your income.
Answer3:Keep pestering the council until they recompensate you.
Answer4:Sorry to hear about your toilet - thanks for the story, but how is that do with your water bill? Are you saying the toilet leaked?Crisis loans can be arranged only if you are already in receipt of benefits, so go down the office and see what they say.
Answer5:Your responsible for your property. Why should you get a crisis loan from a job centre. What measures did you take between discovering the breakage and the council fixing it.Your lucky the council fixed it and you didnt have to pay for it yourself.
Answer6:yes, but all water companies do theuir own scheme for this sort of thing...see if they can offer you more help with the bill.
